The will of William Russell, Will Book A page 79, Greene Cty. MO. dated April 22, 1857 states in Item # 9 "I desire to be buried at my home by the side of my daughter and I desire a good stone wall marde around a piece of ground to include my own, and my daughters graves and sufficient for several other graves, the wall to be four ft. high, and the contract to build the same to be let to the lowest bidder on the day of sale of my personal property or the cost and expenses of the same to be paid out of the money arising from the sale of my personal property." Some evidence of the stone wall still exists. The graves have not been cared for in many years. The area appears to be about 50 x 100 ft.
