He was the husband of Jenny (Paczosa) Correira.
Born in Acushnet, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Rhonda E. (Hodgekinson) Correira. He lived in this area all his life.
He was a Marine Corps veteran, serving two years during the Korean conflict.
A 1949 graduate of New Bedford Vocational School, he was a talented carpenter. He built his own home and always took pride in his workmanship. He enjoyed a challenge in building and repairs for his many longtime customers.
For many years, he was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Twenty-Thirty Club, and was an avid worker on church suppers, rummage sales and minstrel shows. His expertise in carpentry was much appreciated by his church peers.
Survivors include his widow; a son; a daughter; a brother, Robert of New Bedford; and four grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Kenneth Correira, brother of the late Florence M. Wilbur, and grandfather of the late Bethany Correira.
