Charles H. Myers, age 89, a resident of Monroe die at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 25, 2004 at Adams County Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 23, 1914 to John Myers and Mary Merriman. Both are deceased. He was married to Juanita K. Wintrow on June 14, 1936 in Geneva. She survives.
He was a member of Union United Methodist Church; longtime Trustee and Sunday School teacher; a former member of the Church Council an former Secretary; a former member of the Adams County Farm Bureau; a former Blue Creek Township Advisory Board member for over 25 years. He was a former 4-H leader in Blue Creek Township. A lifelonger farmer, former employee of CTS for 10 years and also worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne; former school bus driver.
In addition to his wife surviving there are three sons;
Lynn Myers of Monroe; J. David (Barb) Myers of Topeka; Carl (Elizabeth) Myers of Lexington Park, Md; and one sister; Mable Freewald of Decatur. In addition there are 8 grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
He was proceded in death by a daughter in law; Renee Myers on January 3 , 2004; one brother Harvey Myers; and one grandson Scott David Myers. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2-4 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home. Services wil be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 29, 2004 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Officiating wil be Rev William Simms. Burial will be at Tricker Cemetery.
