Mr. Campbell was born Jan. 12, 1876, in Jefferson, O., a son of John Henry and Jennet McFarland Campbell. He received his education in Jefferson public schools and in an electrical engineering college there.
In 1896 he went to Evanston, Wyo., as chief engineer for the Evanston Power Co. On Oct. 11, 1898, he married Louise Eakins in Evanston. They made their home there until 1904, when Mr. Campbell accepted a position with the Mountain States Telephone Co., and they moved to Montpelier, Ida. The were later transferred to Malad, Ida., and resided there until 1913, when Mr. Campbell came to Provo as district sales representative for the General Electric co.
Retiring from the employ of General Electric in 1939, Mr. Campbell began poultry farming in Orem. In 1945 they moved to San Mateo, Cal., but returned two years later to Pleasant Grove.
He was a member of the Malad Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of Salt Lake Lodge No. 85, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was an ardent sports enthusiast.
Last October the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Survivors include his widow, Pleasant Grove; two sons and three daughters; Chelsea H. Campbell, Pleasant Grove; Henry A. Campbell, Orem; Mrs. Dora L. Radke, San Francisco; Mrs. Carol Farrell, Redwood City, Cal.; Mrs. Eunice Strohmeir, San Mateo; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Berg mortuary of Provo.
