Locust Dale Man Expires at Geisinger
Ernest Banning 77, a resident of
Locustdale died yesterday in the
Geisinger Memorial Hospital, where
he had been a patient the past month.
Death resulting from complications,
occured after a long illness.
The funeral which will be private,
will be held from the home of a son,
William Banning, Mount Carmel Junction.
Rev. Edgar F. Xander, pastor of Zion's
Lutheran Church,Ashland will officiate.
Mr Banning was a native of Ashland and was
a resident of LocustDale the past 27 yrs.
He was a blacksmith by trade and worked
many years for the Potts Colliery.
Survivors are his wife, Emma, and the following
sons and daughters: William Banning, Mt Carmel
Junction; Mrs Harry Smith & Mrs John Curley,both of
LocustDale; Charles Banning, Hepler; Leonard
Banning, Ashland, and Harry Banning, Mount Carmel.
There are 26 grandchildren and 15 great grand-
children.
