From Holland St. John - "Frank (as he was always called by family and friends) was born in Canada and in the 1880's he established a store in the mining town of Ruby in Okanogan County, Washington Territory. It was here that he met and married Margaret Ella Jones, the daughter of an early pioneer family who lived just downstream from Salmon Creek in the Spring Coulee area. They resided at Ruby for several years but when the people of the town left the area, Frank and Ella moved around 1895 to Trail, B.C. where they established their home and raised their three children (Delbert, Fritz, and Harold). Frank served as Trails's postmaster for twenty-years. In 1924, soon after their son Fritz and his wife Audrey moved to California, Frank and Ella decided to move to Oakland. They spent the rest of their lives there managing an apartment complex. He died in Oakland on December 13, 1944.
