Mrs. Z.M. Pettigrew is in receipt of a letter announcing the death from heart disease of her brother, Capt. Alvin Beatty, at Bonden, Texas March 28th at the age of 63. Capt. Beatty was reared near Cincinnati, this county, where he was an esteemed until about 20 years ago when he moved to Texas. He was a gallant Confederate soldier and served four years in the Southern army, reaching the grade of Captain. He leaves many relatives and friends in Washington County.
