Margaret Jane Calvert was born in New Diggings, Wisconsin, March 17th, 1853, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Wood, Dec. 22nd, 1917; thus having reached the age of 64 years, 9 months and 5 days at the time of her departure. She was married to Adam Woodward, June 28, 1870. To them were born six children. In 1892 the family moved to Shullsburg and in 1900 to Darlington where Mr. Woodward preceded her to the great beyond. Some three years ago she married Morris L. Smith of Darlington who died May 1, 1915.
Deceased is survived by five children namely: Mrs. Robert Bush, Mosinee, Wis., Charles M. Woodward, Freeport, Ill., John T. Woodward, Mrs. John Garvey and Mrs. H.N. Wood, Darlington. One son, George W. died in infancy. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren. Five of her sisters survive: Mrs. Belle Monroe o fShullsburg, Mrs. Geo. Maylotte, Mrs. Thos. Fawcett, Mrs. John Coulthard and Mrs. Geo. Alderson, all of Elgin, Neb.
