Born July 31, 1913, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Inez (Minnick) McKenzie. She was also preceded in death by her husband Olin Francis Garlitz on June 8, 1977; and seven brothers.
Mrs. Garlitz was retired from the Bobbin Department of the Celanese Fibers Corporation. She was baptized a Catholic by faith.
Surviving are four sons, Edwin Garlitz and wife, Margaret, Frostburg, Ellis Garlitz and wife, Pauline, Frostburg, Paul Garlitz and wife, Mary, Beall School Road, and Herman Garlitz, California; one daughter, Leona McKenzie and husband Darrell, Mount Vernon, Ohio; three sisters, Blanche Spiker, Midland, Pearl Garlitz, Avilton, and Mabel Rush, Frostburg; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George R. Loar officiating.
Interment will be in the Blocher Cemetery, Garrett County.
