Acree, Gwinn Saline, MI Age 83, passed away at Arbor Hospice on November 10, 2009.

He was born December 24, 1925 in Montpelier, KY; youngest of the nine children born to Tyler A. Acree and Ina (Bledsoe) Acree.

Gwinn married Margaret Mellinger on June 2, 1948 in Angola, IN and she preceded him in death.

Gwinn was a very self-reliant man who came to Michigan at the age of 15 and worked at various jobs to support himself. His strong work ethic landed him a job with Hoover Ball Bearing/ Hoover NSK where he worked his way up to a supervisorial position and a career spanning just short of 33 years. For 38 years Gwinn was also the "main man" to sell you a ticket if you parked at the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club for Michigan football games and entered gate one.

He proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII assigned to the USS Hamblen.

Gwinn leaves behind his four children, Gary (Anita) Acree of Saline, Sue Ellen Acree of Ann Arbor, Lea (Mike) Birkle of Dexter and Jerry Acree of Ann Arbor.

He is also survived by his four loving grandchildren, Amy and Geoff Acree and Aaron and Jason Birkle and great-grandchild Victoria Birkle. He is survived by his sister Edna Bowles of Foley, AL. Special thanks to the Arbor Hospice Team and the VA hospital.
