---Abbie Clifford Wood, seventy, died at his home in South Gifford on Tuesday morning, January 17 at 3:30.
---He was born November 5, 1890 in Adair County the son of Benjamin and Kate (Brown) Wood. He married Anna Belle Rogers on January 2, 1915 and to this marriage five children were born.
---He is survived by his wife, four children and eleven grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Cyeral (Louise) Bailey of Elmer, Gail Wood of La Plata, Mrs. Herbert (Leota) Gash of La Plata and Mrs. Donald (Ethel) Slaughter of Kirksville.
---He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ralph, one sister, one brother, one half-sister and one half-brother.
---Services were held Thursday at the South Gifford Christian Church. Rev. Clyde McCollum conducted the services and burial was in the La Plata Cemetery. McCollum Funeral Home of South Gifford was in charge.
