ANNA BELLE THROCKMORTON
Mrs. Anna Belle Throckmorton, daughter of Charles and Anna Russell, was born March 18, 1866 and died March 8, 1952 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Askren, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 20 days.
On April 7, 1885 she was united in marriage to James N. Askren. To this union five children were born, two of whom died in infancy, and one son, Fred, died in 1948. Mr. Askren died in 1911. In 1920 she married F. L. Throckmorton, who preceded her in death in 1933.
Mrs. Throckmorton has spent all of her life in the vicinity of Columbia, with the exception of five years in Nebraska. The last nine years she has made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Askren.
At an early age she united with the Methodist church, continuing her membership throughout her life.
Left to mourn her loss are two sons, Robert H. Askren and James Askren, 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Russell, Pasadena, Calif.; Albert Russell, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Frank Russell, Marionville, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Columbia Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. B. H. Finch. Interment was in Columbia cemetery.
