Mrs. Kate Jones Funeral Set
Funeral services for Mrs. Kate C. Jones, 76, daughter of one of San Antonio's early mayors and a lifelong resident of the city, will be held Wednesday.
Mrs. Jones, daughter of Maj. John M. Carolan, who served as mayor in 1854, and widow of Enoch Griff Jones, member of another pioneer Texas family, died Sunday.
A graduate of Ursuline convent and first president of the school's alumnae association, Mrs. Jones was active in that organization, as well as in the life of St. Mary's Catholic church. She was a charter member of the Queen's daughters and also of the DAughters of the Republic of Texas.
Mrs. Jones had in recent years, resided at the home of a niece, Mrs. Kate B. Martin, 122 East Ridgewood court, and it was there that she died.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Elizabeth G. Jones of Washington, D.C., two sons, Enoch P. Jones of Houston and T. Griff Jones of San Antonio, and a granddaughter, Constance J. Jones of San Antonio.
Funeral services will be held from the Martin home at 9a.m. Wednesday to St. Mary's church at 9:30 a.m
