Anna Ethel 'Ann' CAMPBELL PURSLEY
03 July 1889 - 27 February 1923
Word has been received of the death Tuesday afternoon at Globe, Ariz., of Mrs. Ann Pursley, wife of R. E. Pursley, and for years a resident of Springfield.
Mrs. Pursley was 34 years old at the time of her death, and was well known here.
She is survived by her husband, R. E. Pursley, her father, Alex Campbell of Baxter Springs, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Carlyne of Phoenix, Ariz., and Miss Catherine Campbell of Globe, Ariz.; and a brother, Hugh Campbell, also of Globe, Ariz.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending arrival of relatives with the body Saturday morning.
Interment will probably be Sunday at Webb cemetery, six miles east of the city.

Note: I believe that Anna and her brother John Alexander Campbell were actually born in Kansas City, Kansas. The 1900 Census does give Kansas as their birth places.
Once she was away from home, 1920 Census, she was giving Missouri as her birth place. I believe that may be because Kansas City, Missouri was the better known Kansas City.
I can't prove it, but I believe this may be the correct family:
Kansas City, Kansas Directory,1890
Name: Alexander Campbell
Location 2: r south side 2d between James and Mo. River
Year: 1889, 1890
City: Kansas City
State: KS
Anna Ethel CAMPBELL PURSLEY, of Springfield, MO, died 27 Feb. 1923 after being 5 months in Globe Gila Co. AZ 149 South High St.
She was shipped 28 Feb.1923 back to Springfield, Mo. for burial.
Their headstone reads: Anna (1890-1923) and Robert E. (1884-1950) Pursley. Buried near them are likely Robert's parents, John M. (1855-1922) and Martha T. (1852-1928).
