He was the son of Rufus and Elizabeth Hunt Rogers, and was the grandson of James L. Hunt. He entered the service on November 27, 1942 and was a member of Company B, 4th Infantry.

He was survived by his mother, Elizabeth Hunt Rogers; a son; three brothers; and his grandfather, James L. Hunt.

Pvt. Rogers was originally buried overseas but was later moved to New Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in 1947.
