McADAM, NB, Canada - Howard Phelps Johnson, 93, died June 21, 2008, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. He was born in 1914 in Mount Holly, Vt., the son of Rollin and Ellen (Phelps) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked at Seward's in Rutland, Vt., for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Taylor of Bellevue, Wash.; a son, Marvin Johnson of Essex Junction, Vt.; a sister, Ella Carrera of Rutland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Gladys M. (Lawson) Johnson, in 2007.
The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, in Green Hill Cemetery, Wallingford, Vt.
