She was born on Feb 24, 1911, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Grafton Burgess and Mary Nancy Jenkins Hilliard.
On Jun 22, 1930, she married Luther Leon Good, who died on Aug 1, 1958. On Nov 12, 1964, she married James Elwood Stroupe, who died on Sept 29, 1983.
She is survived by three sons, Donald E J Nelson and Carlton L Good, all of Stanley; three sisters, Mary Magdeline McDaniel and Ruby H DiScala, both of Stanley and Naomi H Shuler of Shenandoah; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Raymond Good; three brothers, Grafton, Charles Earl and Harry Hoove Hilliard and a sister, Alma Painte.
Burial in Hilliards Chapel Cemetery.
