Edward D. Huber died Tuesday evening, Dec 28, 1954, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Ed underwent a throat operation early in 1954 which proved rather serious and confined him to the hospital for some time. He was released in late summer, and early in November, with his wife and daughters, he visited Harrington. About Thanksgiving time his condition grew bad again and he returned to the hospital where he passed away.

Ed was born in St Louis, MO, Feb 11, 1895. He came to Harrington in 1904, and attended the local schools. He served in WWI with Co K of the 249th infantry and was overseas. He was a charter member of American Legion Post 95 at Harrington, also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Spokane. In 1919 Ed Huber purchased the Magnet, which he operated until 1943 when he sold and moved to Spokane. He was employed in Spokane by Western Light Metals Co.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, at the home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Lavelle (Mary Lou), and Miss Delores Huber, both of Spokane; his mother, Mrs. Mary Fallert, of Harrington; three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Gooley (Eleanor Fallert), Harrington; Mrs. Jack Ackerman (Rosella Fallert), Seattle' and Mrs. Charles Yarwood (Catherine Fallert), Ephrata; brothers, Charles Fallert, Sunnyside; and Rev Francis Fallert SJ, St Michaels, Alaska; and 2 grand-daughters. Rosary was said Thursday night at Hennessey's Funeral Home in Spokane, and funeral services are being held this morning (Dec 31) at 10 AM from St Francis of Assisi Church, with Rev Jos W. Brunner, SJ officiating. Burial will be in St Francis Cemetery. (Citizen-31 Dec 1954)
