Leroy A. Baca, 57

DEL NORTE — Leroy A. Baca, resident of Del Norte, passed away May 5, 2006 at St. Francis Hospice in Colorado Springs. Leroy was born August 31, 1948 in Del Norte, to Toby and Ernestine Baca.

Throughout his life Leroy pursued a variety of jobs; including assisting with construction of the Eisenhower Tunnel, 13 years working with the railroad, home construction, and owning a janitorial and landscaping business.

Leroy will be remembered by family and friends as a happy man with a great sense of humor. Leroy will also be remembered as a great father and role model to his son Jeremy. He spent time traveling between Del Norte, Colorado Springs and Denver throughout his life. He easily made new friends where ever he went. Leroy loved to take occasional trips to Black Hawk and Cripple Creek.

Leroy is survived by his mother Ernestine Baca of Del Norte, brothers Jake R Baca of Aurora, and Toby (Phyllis) Baca of Pittsburgh, Penn., sisters Henrietta (Gilbert) Martinez of Denver, Lucy (Don) Madrid and Priscilla Lucero of Colorado Springs, Virginia Valle and Valerie (Leroy) Atencio of Del Norte, son Jeremy (Veronica) Baca of Colorado Springs, and grandchildren Johnathan and Stephanie Baca of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Leroy's father, Toby Baca, preceded him in death.

Services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. at New Life Fellowship Church 520 7th Street, Del Norte. Interment will be held immediately after the service at the Del Norte Cemetery.
