When she was born, Fairburn was in old Campbell County, Georgia.
She was the mother of 9 children, 3 died in infancy. She was also known as Willena Sophia McBride Stripling.

She was in Ratan visiting her sister Jeannette Kiker when she died. According to her obituary, she is believed to be buried in the Kiker Lot N8 in Fairmont Cemetery, Raton, Colfax County, New Mexico. There is one empty space next Stella Kiker, I believe that is her unmarked grave.

Funeral-services were held yesterday afternoon at the Kiker residence on 240 South Fifth Street for Mrs Willena Stripling, sister of Mrs. J. C. Kiker, who passed away there Wednesday morning. The services were conducted by Reverend J. H. Swift. Interment was in Fairmount Cemetery.

Mrs. Stripling arrived from Tallapoosa, Georgia , for a visit with the Kiker family about a month ago. A short time ago was take ill with pneumonia and due to her advanced age could not survive the disease. She died at the age of 76.
