Madalen V. Feist 1926 - 2007
Madalen V. Feist, 81, of Great Bend, died June 9 at Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood. She was born Jan. 25, 1926, near Ellinwood, the daughter of Frank J.and Magdeline Breitenbach Wendel. She married August Feist at Larned. He died in 1989. A Great Bend resident since 1969, formerly of Bushton. she was a homemaker. Mrs. Feist was a former member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Altar Society in Bushton. Survivors include a son, Michael Feist, Ellinwood; a daughter, Patricia Doll, Great Bend; a brother, Ambrose Wendel, Great Bend; and two sisters, Helen Sappington, Hoisington, and Irene Harper, Othello, Wash.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Wendel, Edward Wendel and Frank Wendel; and two sisters, Anna Feist and Frances Oberle.Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church near Bushton, with the Rev. Steven Scheier officiating. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Bushton. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Name Cemetery Fund and Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
