Simon Larned, the eldest child of Thaddeus Larned, of Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut, and grandson of Deacon Simon and Rebekah (Merrils) Larned, of Thompson, was born on November 25, 1787. His mother was Abigail, daughter of the Rev. Noadiah Russell (Yale 1750), of Thompson. He was prepared for College at the Woodstock Academy.
He was a young man of promise, but died in Thompson on September 21, 1810, in his 23d year, nine days after receiving his degree.
