George, son of Thaddeus, was for years the owner of Larned's mill at Thompson, where he engaged in the manufacture of cotton. On retiring from business he removed to Wickford, R. I., where he died. He married Maria C. Read, who was born in Thompson, and was a daughter of William Read, of that place. After Maria's death he married Harriet Russell in 1835 and had five additional children.
