Franz Anton "Anthony" Grobbel was born in Germany to parents, Rottger and Maria Catharina (Eickhoff gt. Spott) Grobbel. His siblings include Joannes Francis Joseph, Johannes Caspar Anton, Joannes (John), Josephina, Maria Anna, and Daniel. Anthony, along with his two brothers, John and Daniel, emigrated to America. Anthony settled in Warren Township, Macomb County, Michigan. His brother John also moved to Warren Township, while Daniel settled in Detroit.
