Arthur had a wonderful sense of humour. The story told to me goes:- If Arthur visited his nephew (my Grandfather) and found them out; he never left a written message as was custom those days. However he always left his own personal ‘calling card'. When my Grandparents went to bed on one such evening, my Grandfather discovered his slippers had been deposited under his pillow by Arthur, indicating he had visited earlier that day.
