She married Rev. Robert Swanson on Oct 20, 1943. He died April 10, 1997. The served as pastor and wife to churches in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Oklahoma. She recently retired from Deaconess Hospital after 26 years, where she had worked as a medical records clerk. She was a member of Trinity Nazarene Church where she served on the official Church Board for many years.
For the past 18 years, Peggy was President of the Southwest Oklahoma District Nazarene World Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
She is survived by daughters, Sharron (Jerry) Main, Fairfield, IA and Linda (John) DeGroat, Yukon OK; son, Kent (Cathy) Swanson, Yukon, OK; 9 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters, and 2 sisters, Mary Ann Ireland and Lina Godley, both of Bloomington, IL.
Memorial may be made to S.W. Oklahoma District Church of the Nazarene.
Services will be held t 10 am Thursday, July 13, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, with interment at Bethay Cemetery. Mercer-Adams Funeral Services.
