Vernon Henry Hatch, 84, died on September 12, 1988 at home in Richfield, Utah.

He was born October 20, 1903, Tropic to John Henry, Jr. and Ethel Reynolds Hatch. He married Pearl Mower on November 3, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator from Georgia Pacific in Sigurd, Utah. He had been president of the union at Georgia Pacific.

He was involved in Civil Defense during 1950's.

He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served a Garfield LDS Stake Mission; ward clerk; aaronic Priesthood advisor; YMMIA president. He was actively involved in temple work.

Survivors: wife, Richfield, Utah; sons, daughters, Mrs. Shirley Redondo, Central Point, Oregon; Carnell (LaVern) Hatch and Mrs. Pearl Dustin, both Richfield Utah; Guy (Verla) Hatch, Spanish Fork, Utah; Dale (Karen) Hatch and Ann (Robert) Memmott, both Las Vegas, Nevada and Ross (Beth) Hatch, Ferron, Utah; 32 grandchildren; 52 great-great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; brother, Dorr (Norma) Hatch, Provo, Utah; sisters, LaFawn (Virgil) Pollock, Ferriland (Orland) Reusch, RaVae (Leland "Pat") Pollock, all Tropic, Utah; Beverly (Russell) Wright, Grantsville, Utah.

Funeral services were held Saturday September 17, 1988 at the Third LDS Ward in Richfield, Utah. Interment was in the Richfield City Cemetery under direction by Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah.
