Ferriland Ruesch

Tropic, Utah

Our dear mother, Ferriland Hatch Ruesch, 90, passed away on February 5, 2016 at her home in Tropic, Utah. We know she is reunited with her loving husband, John Orlan Ruesch. Together they had six children: Geri (Dave) Munford, Peggy Tebbs, Layne Ruesch (deceased), John (Janice) Ruesch, Renon (Rick) Bybee, and Kim (Chris) Hansen. She had 30 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Mom was a spunky, vivacious woman who loved her family and life in general. She enjoyed all types of crafts. The joy of creating kept her mind sharp and youthful. Her favorite pastime was traveling. Mom, Dad and their traveling companions, Uncle Dorr and Aunt Norma Hatch, traveled all over the western United States. If they found a dirt road along the way they would explore that as well. Mom and Dad worked in the tourist business for most of their lives and they always felt it a treat to be a tourist themselves. They lived in four different states until finally making Tropic their home again. They had a strong testimony of the LDS Church and attended the temple often in their later years until their health made it too difficult.

Mom was born May 13, 1925 in Tropic, to John Henry Jr. and Ethel Reynolds Hatch, the 11th child in a family of 13. She was also preceded in death by her parents; Peggy’s husbands: Frank Pitts and Blaine Tebbs; grandson, Kim Munford; and all of her siblings, except her younger sister, Beverly Wright. Coming from such a large family gave her spunk and a teasing sense of humor. We will miss her dearly and our April Fool’s Days will not be near as fun.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Tropic Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

Thanks to Magleby Mortuary for the obituary.
