He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific and worked in the Naval Post Office. He greatly enjoyed his memories of serving in the Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Montfort and worked at the United States Post Office.
Bob married the former Gladys M. Sharpee in 1947 and the couple moved to Madison where Bob was employed with Oscar Mayer as a spice technician for 36 years. After retiring in 1986, Bob moved to Marshall and enjoyed traveling the state for many years to enjoy the dancing and hear the music by some of the top polka bands. For the last several years, he resided at The Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Bob leaves behind a daughter and her husband, two sons and their wives, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; and sisters, Rosie Gard and Roxy Fox.
