Rosie, age 80, formerly of the Montfort, Cobb and Edmund area, passed away at the Mineral Point Care Center, following a long illness. She was born the daughter of Archibald & Julia (Draves) Vine, and was a 1944 graduate of the Montfort High School. She married Harold Gard on Oct. 6, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1966. Rosie's passion was nursing and her goal in life was caring for people, which she did as both an LPN and a nursing home administrator. She also enjoyed softball, bowling, traveling, going out to eat, and time spent with family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles and Calvin; a brother, Charles Vine; and a sister, Roxy Fox. Rosie is survived by two daughters, Connie Eveland of Evansville, WI, and Carla (Dale) Strickfaden of Dodgeville, WI; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Sharpee of Columbus, WI, and Rena Lunde of Madison, WI; a brother, Robert Vine of Madison, WI; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Vine of Fennimore, WI, and Lauretta Gard of Cobb, WI; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services was held at the Funeral Home, Dodgeville. Pastor Douglas Tremelling officiated.
