Jacob Millard "Jake" Kibbe, son of Jesse and Monta (Seaver) Kibbe, was born April 29, 1903. He was a life resident of Jewell County, having spent his entire life in the area of Randall.
He was united in marraige to Emma Gordon on March 13, 1927 and to this union five sons were born being: Gordon, Kenneth, Robert, Jimmy and Ronald Kibbe.
He was a graduate of Randall High School, an excellent athlete and maintained an interest in sports and athletic functions.
Farming was his life work by birth and by choice. He was a good gardener and took pride in growing a great variety of foods for his family. Jake, as he was affectionately known, was regarded by everyone as a friendly good neighbor. He was diligent in helping other people who needed his services, many times uncalled for beyond his duty.
He made a confession of faith at an early age and lived by the light which he understood. He was a member of the Christian church of Randall.
He was taken suddenly ill while he and Alfred Cash were visiting a friend in the Sunset Infirmary in Concordia, was taken to St. Joseph's hospital and died in less than one week in spite of the best that technical and medical skill and loving care could provide.
