Ann married Thomas Weaver Baker on 14 Apr 1830, and they produced four children:
1) Edward M. Baker [my Gr-Gr-Grandfather],
2) Charles Wilson Baker,
3) Phebe L. Baker, and
4) Henry Clay Baker.
Ann Wing was my gr-gr-gr-grandmother, and was part of a very influential family throughout our country's history:
I have been able to determine that she was descended from at least three Mayflower lines:
1) The Mayflower Pilgrim George Soule through her mother's maternal [SISSON] lines -- [(1) Ann; (2) mother K (Tibbetts) Wing; (3) grandmother B (Sisson) Tibbetts; (4) Gr-grandmother L (Potter) Sisson; (5) 2x Gr-Grandmother M (Devol/Davol) Potter; (6) 3x Gr-Grandmother M (Soule/Sowle) Devol/Davol; (7) 4x Gr-Grandfather G Soule/Sowle, junior; (8) 5x Gr-Grandfather George SOULE/SOWLE]
2) The Mayflower Pilgrim John Cook/Cooke, again thru her mother's lineage, but this time thru her grandfather John Tibbetts' lines -- [(1) Ann; (2) mother K (Tibbetts) Wing; (3) grandfather J Tibbetts; (4) gr-grandmother K (Brownell) Tibbetts; (5) 2x Gr-grandfather T Brownell; (6) 3x Gr-Grandmother E (Taber/Tabor) Brownell; (7) 4x Gr-Grandmother M (Cook/Cooke) Taber/Tabor; 8) 5x Gr-Grandfather John COOK/COOKE]
NOTE: the third line is through Richard WARREN, whose daughter Sarah WARREN married the John COOK/COOKE mentioned above.
Although these are the only three lines that I have been able to trace with some degree of certainty, I suspect that there are some others, since I have not been able to plot the entire lineage.
In addition to this great heritage, Ann (Wing) BAKER was also the grand-daughter of a U.S. Revolutionary War participant - Edward WING. The following excerpt was pulled from a "Sons of the American Revolution" for another descendant: "All Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution, 17 Vols. results for Edward Wing
Wing, Edward, Jr.Private, Capt. Benjamin Willcox's co., which marched from Dartmouth to Howland's Ferry, R. I., Dec. 8, 1776, on an alarm, to repel the British forces that arrived at Newport Dec. 7, 1776; service, 8 days."
And, if that's not enough for Ann's legacy, all three of her boys served in the Civil War.
It is with great honor, humility, and pride that I present Ann (Wing) BAKER's memorial.
