William Dobson was born on 9th April 1944 in Blantyre to Jeanie Stewart Dick and William Dobson. His mother died 18 days later from tuberculosis, with William being brought up by his father and grandparents. In 1965 he married Jean Allan Patterson Bayne and together they went on to have 5 children. Jean passed away in 1991 aged 44 years and William passed away at home on 18th March 2008 aged 63 years.

Remember their grandson Jack Dobson who died 17 Nov 2020 aged 26 years. Son of Ian and Tracey, stepson of Carole and Colin. Brother to Adam, Dylan, Jamie, Harry and Katie. Beloved grandson to the Dobson, McColgan, Kennedy and Cameron families. Fly high Jack, you’ve earned your Angel wings
