O. G. Wood, 73, died at his home 504 S. Ferry St. at 5 AM today. Born in Wapello County, October 25, 1872 he has lived in this county is entire life and was a resident of Ottumwa for the past 45 years. He was the son of John T. And Amanda Compton would and was a member of The Davis Street Christian Church. He was married to Ada Moughler, April 14, 1898, and his wife survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Beall and Lucille Wood, both of Ottumwa, and one son PFC. Vernon Wood, a company stationed at Quantico, Virginia, as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A brother, Albert Wood, Ottumwa also survived. Proceeding him in death was one daughter, Sadie; a grandson, Frank Beall Junior, three sisters and four brothers. Funeral services for O. G. Wood, who died early Monday at his home, 504 S. Ferry St. will be held at 2 PM Monday from the Johnson funeral Chapel in charge of the Rev. Bruce D. Matthews. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Garrett, Raymond Crowe, A.L. Ross, and Floyd Shelton.
