Dies at His Home
South of Sheridan

John McInturf, 89, a retired farmer, died at 12:45 a.m. today at his home on the paved road half a mile south of Sheridan where he had lived for 50 years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the family home, followed by rites at 2 at the Methodist church in Sheridan. The Rev. James Odom is to officiate.

Born in Serena township April 23, 1858, Mr. McInturf was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph McInturf. He lived in that township for 30 years, then moved to Mission township where he was noted as a stock raised for a long time.

He was united in marriage, March 4, 1880, with Miss Emma Bernard of Serena township, a daughter of early day settlers. Mrs. McInturf preceded her husband in death several months ago.

Their home was noted for its beautiful surroundings and several times won state honors in contests.

Surviving Mr. McInturf are a son, Robert and a granddaughter Miss Emma Jewel McInturf and two brothers, Fred McInturf of Mendota and Bert McInturf of Malden.

Three brothers, Frank, Edward and William and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Elwell and Mrs. Elizabeth McMullen are deceased.

Last Rites for John McInturf

Last rites for John McInturf, 89, were conducted by the Rev. James H. Odom at 1:30 at the home, south of Sheridan, and at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church in Sheridan last Monday.

The hymns were sung by Mrs. Erick Hougsted and her sister, Mrs. George Williams, accompanied at the organ by Miss Florence Lacart. The flower bearers included: Mrs. Frank Bernard, Mrs. Everett Robinson and Mss Clara Thompson. The pallbearers were: Earl Ogden, Ellsworth, Herbert Thompson, Delmar Hibben, Frank Bernard and George Williams.

Burial was in the Elerding cemetery, northeast of Sheridan.
