Mrs. John McInturf
of Mission, Married
66 years, Dies Today

Mrs. Emma Bernard McInturf, 86, of Mission township, died at 7 today at her home, breaking marriage ties of 66 years. She and her husband, John S. McInturf, were among the oldest married couples in the state.

Funeral arrangements are not complete.

Mrs. McInturf had been ill many months at her home, a mile south of Sheridan on the paved road.

Born in Serena township, March 10, 1860, Mrs. McInturf was Emma Bernard, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bernard, early day settlers of the county. She was one of eight children, all of whom are deceased.

She and Mr. McInturf were married in Ottawa March 4, 1880, and with the exception of a short time in Serena township, had since lived south of Sheridan. Their home, with its beautiful surroundings, twice won honors in a state-wide contest.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Robert McInturf; a granddaughter, Emma Jewell McInturf, all living at the McInturf home.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
FOR MRS. EMMA McINTURF

Last rites for Mrs. Emma McInturf, 86, were conducted by the Rev. Richard B. Bowersox, at the McInturf home south of Sheridan Friday afternoon, May 31. The sisters, Mrs. Florence Hougsted and Mrs. Mabel Williams sang two numbers. Burial was on the Elerding cemetery northeast of Sheridan.

Pallbearers were: Leonard D. Hess, Frank Bernard, Earl Ogden, Ellsworth Thompson, Herbert Thompson and Ernest Pfund.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Grace Morell, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Engstrom of Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Harry McCollum of Downers Grove; Mrs. Caroline Davis of Muscogee, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whittington, Mr. and Mrs. Howard McInturf, Kankakee, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pfund of Oswego; Mr. and Mrs. Bert McInturf of Maulden [Malden]; Mr. and Mrs. Fred McInturf, Mr. and Mrs. Roy McInturf of Mendota; Mr. and Mrs. George Harris and daughter of Grand Ridge; Mrs. Ida Lamson and Mrs. Peacock of Morris; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Thompson of Wedron; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Ellwell, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Hibben and Charles Thompson, all of Serena.

Others who visited the bereaved family included: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nelson and M.
