BERNICE ROAHRIG DEAD
A very sudden and sad death occurred here last Friday. Miss Bernice daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Roahrig died very suddenly. She had been in declining health for several years at first starting from a severe cold which grew rapidly worse producing consumption and later on heart disease, which was the immediate cause of her sudden death. For the past year she seemed much better and her parents and friends had hopes that she might yet be restored to health. She was able to be about and was cheerful and happy. On the day of her death, the family and a couple of friends who were there on a visit, were all talking happily and everything was going as usual when in an instant without a sigh or word she sank to the floor a lifeless body. The grief stricken parents and sisters could scarcely express their feeling so sudden was the change from life to death, and from happiness to sorrow and any one who has human sympathy can readily imagine the distress of anyone on such occasion. The deceased was born 17 September, 1878 died 30 January, 1895. She was esteemed by all who knew her and on account of her kindness and cheerful ways her friends will miss her very much. The family have the sincere sympathy of all in their sorrow and distress. The remains were interred in the Zion Cemetery. Rev P U Hawkins of Plainfield officiating.
