Robert Daniel Herrington, Sr., age 77, widower of Wilma Jean Jacobs Herrington, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He was born April 8, 1931, in Mason County, Kentucky, to the late Jessie James and Lula Dotson Herrington. He was a retired concrete contractor, a former member of the Kentucky Army National Guard and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons, Bobby (Kathy) Herrington, of Carlisle, and Joseph Lee (Vickie) Herrington, of Paris; three daughters, Betty Jean (Tom) King, of Terre Haute, Indiana, Kathy Louise (Charlie Shumate) Herrington, of Bethel, Ohio, and Patricia Ann Rigdon, of Maysville; his stepmother, Daisy Marie Herrington, of Paris; a brother, Billy (Frances) Herrington, of Carlisle, a sister, Margaret Lesater, of Clinton, Arkansas; three half-sisters, Marie (Charles) Denton, of Carlisle, Becky (Richard) Jolly, of North Middletown, and Charlotte Pressler, of Carlisle; a special friend, Bertha Baker, of Carlisle; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Clay Herrington.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Mike Hughes. Burial will follow at Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Friday.
