Mildred R. Osterhoudt of Stockville died Tuesday, Aug 15, 1995 at the McCook Community Hospital at the age of 90 year,6 months and 5 days. She was born Feb.10 1905 at Madrid, to Jim and Cary Reynolds.
The family moved to Moorefield when she was a yong child.
She graduated from Moorefield High School and Peru State Teachers College.
May 30,1927 she was married to Harold V. Osterhoudt at North Platte. To this union a daughter,Elizabeth Ann and three sons,Harold, Rodney and Kent were born.
Mildred's life for 52 years was devoted to teaching. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Rebeka lodge #278 for 50 years,The American Legion Auxillary for 24 years,Stockville Womwn's club, VFW Auxillary, Mail CArrier Auxillary Dist. #5 Nebraska and NARFE. She also had a Professional Life Teaching Certificate.
She wrote news items for the Curtis Enterprse for almost 70 years.
Mildred was prededed in death by husband; Harold, daughter Elizabeth Ann; and sons Harold and Rodney.
Survivors include; son Kent and wife Sandra of McCook; granddaughter Darla Boice of Nixa,Mo; grandsons,Doug Osterhoudt and Dennis Osterhoudt of Phoenix,Ariz; and Mike Osterhoudt of North Platte ; and five great grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 18 at the Stockville Congregational Church. Rev. Stan LaRue of the United Methodist Church in Curtis officiated.
Music was provided by Joan Wetzel and Nancy Schaffert.
Pallbearers were Mervin Zysset, Paul Johnson, Harold Brown, John Owens, Allan Mortensen and Robert brown. Interment was in the Arbor Cemetery at Stockville.Wetzel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangments.
