TOWNSEND - Catherine Allen, 76, wife of Orlando J Allen of Radersburg, died Wednesday in Broadwater Hospital here. Death followed a lengthy illness.
The mother of 12 was a longtime resident of Anaconda. She leaves 65 direct descendants.
Mrs. Allen was born Dec. 2, 1887, in Toledo, Ohio. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Ann Sheehan. As a young child she came to Montana with her parents and lived in Anaconda.
She married Mr. Allen July 2, 1910, in Anaconda. They moved to Townsend in 1938 and to Radersburg in 1952.
Survivors besides her husband include five sons, John, Con and James of Butte, Harry of Radersburg and Bob of Victor; seven daughters, Mrs. Leo Milburn of Butte, Mrs. Dan Murphy of Harlowton, Mrs. Bud Harris, Mrs. George Harris, Mrs. Charles Price and Mrs. Art Roberts of Radersburg, and Mrs. Dick Buckingham of Townsend; 44 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 8:30 Friday night in the Connors Mortuary here. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10 in Holy Cross Church here. Interment will be in the local Holy Cross Cemetery. Grandsons will be the pallbearers.
