Granddaughter of John Covode (1808-71) and Sarah hay, his wife; George W. Robb (1802-58) and Christina Palmer, his wife.

Gr.-granddaughter of George Hay and — Barnitz, his wife; Samuel Robb and Louisa St. Clair (1770-1840), his wife.

Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of John Hay and Julianna Moul, his second wife; Arthur St. Clair and Phoebe Bayard (1743-1818), his wife.

Arthur St. Clair, (1734-1818), who had served in the early wars, was colonel of militia in the Canadian campaign. He was promoted brigadier general, 1776, major general, 1777, and succeeded Gates at Ticonderoga. He was a member of the André court martial and aided in suppressing the mutiny in the Pennsylvania Line, 1781. He served in the south, 1782, and was a member of the Council of Censors, 1783. He was born in Scotland; died in Westmoreland Co., Pa.

John Hay, (1733-1810), was a member of the Committee of Correspondence, 1774, of the convention that framed the State Constitution and of the Assembly, 1779-84. He was an officer in the York County Associators. He was born in Alsace, France; died in York, Pa.
