Henry D. Cobbs may not be buried at Longbranch cem. but in Daviess Co., IN. I found a Probate record in Daviess Co. that listed Manerva & their three sons, Dorphin, William B. & Henry Clay Cobbs. The paper was dated Oct. 1853 & Henry D. Cobbs died Aug. 15, 1852. The Administrator was Dorphin T. Perkins, who may have been a relative of Manerva Perkins Cobbs. My thought is when Manerva died in Gentry Co., MO, the children had the headstone erected and had their Mother's name on one side & their Father's on the other. In the obituary of Henry D. Cobbs son, Henry Clay Cobb, it states Henry Clay Cobb didn't move to MO until 1853. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. There were few records in Daviess Co., IN because of several fires they had through the years at the courthouse and many records were destroyed. The record above was attained from the Genealogy Library in Washington, Daviess Co., IN. In the old Cobbs Bible it listed Henry D. Cobbs as having passed away Aug 15, 1852.
