Jennie Marie Van Dam was born in Big Timber, Mont on November 26, 1987. Her parents were Martin and Cornelia Arahamse. Jennie died April 21, 1982 at Whidbey Island Manor. She came to Whidbey Island with her family in 1904 and the settled in the Clover Valley area. She married Eldred Van Dam. Eldred passed away in 1957. In 1964 Jennie married Eldred's brother, Albert, in 1964. He passed away in 1971.

Jennie was a member of the First Reformed Church, the Ladies Aid of the Church, the Republican Club of North Whidbey, North Whidbey Homemakers, Whidbey Womens Hospital Guild and World War I Womens Auxillary.
