Funeral services were scheduled Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hawkins Chapel for Dewey A. Adams, 62, who died Monday at Bridgeport Hospital. Rev. Bill Walles, pastor of Cuba Baptist Church where Adams was a member, officiated. Interment will be in West Bridgeport Cemetery.
Adams was born July 23, 1921, in Petrolia. He married Lera Howl October 23, 1950, in Waurika, Oklahoma. He had lived in Bridgeport 13 years.
Pallbearers are Larry Hussey, Charlie and Richard Gamble, B. J. Williamson, Nick Nichol, and Thomas Early.
Survivors include his wife Lera (Jerry) Adams, Bridgeport; two daughters, LaRae Coan, Bridgeport; and Jeanine Nickerson, Krum; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his mother, Margaret Adams, and a sister, June Walters, both of Olney.
