Helen born in De Baca county, Fort Sumner NM. Daughter of Jim Prater. Sister to Gerald, Frank and Robert Prater and Evelyn Prater - Miller.
Helen married George Armstrong in Muleshoe in 1959. Her surviving children include:

Rita Armstrong of Amarillo; four sons, George Armstrong Jr., Joe Armstrong, Steve Armstrong, all of Amarillo and Jack Armstrong of Wichita Falls; a sister, Mary Miller of
Morton; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Helen Armstrong, 58, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003. The same day as her birthday in her sleep, due to heart complications.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral
Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Cremation will be by Memory Gardens Crematory. She was cremated and buried in Fort Sumner cemetary with her husband George.

Mrs. Armstrong was born in Young County and had lived in Amarillo for 25 years. She was a homemaker and owned and operated a drapery
business for 20 years.
