Mary was the daughter of Dr. Andrew Jackson Dugan and Rachel Dugan. She married James Hugh Dearmore in 1871 in Ark. SHe and James parented eleven children.

Services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Dearmore were held in the First Baptist Church. At the age of 18, she married J.H. Dearmore in 1870 in Arkansas. Eighteen years later, they moved to Texas, settling in the Denver community. In 1904, they moved to Bowie. Her husband preceded her in death. Survived by four sons - A.J. Dearmore, H.N. Dearmore, W.E. Dearmore, B.F. Dearmore; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.
