OTTAWA--Russel C. Daugharthy, 66, Route 2, Ottawa, died Sunday, Oct. 7, at a hospital here.
He owned and operated the Dairy Queen South store at Ottawa. He was also a rancher. He owned and operated a Dairy Queen store at Paola from 1951 to 1962 and was previously employed by Montgomery Ward at Ottawa 12 years.
Mr. Daugharthy was born Nov. 14, 1916, east of Ottawa, the son of Ulysses B. and Clara Elizabeth Eversole Daugharthy. He graduated from Ottawa High School.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Ottawa Rotary Club, both at Ottawa.
He married Dorothy F. Robertson Dec. 30, 1944, at Larned. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Russel C. Daugharthy Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Sandy Ogg, and Terri Daugharthy, at home; two brothers, Beverly Daugharthy and Raymond Daugharthy; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Seymour and Mrs. Ila Tuloss; and two grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
