Chilton: John Achter, 76, died at his farm home near Chilton on Wednesday evening. He was born December 15, 1867 in the town of Brothertown. For 21 years Mr. Achter was a cheesemaker. In 1914 he purchased a farm in the town of Chilton where he has since resided.
Surviving him are his wife Pauline, two sons, John, Jr., of the town of New Holstein; Henry, of New Holstein; three brothers, Math. Achter of town of Brothertown; Philip, of Waupeton, S. Dak.; Charles of Milwaukee; three sisters, Margaret, of Milwaukee; Sophia, of Cleveland Ohio; and Louise, of Buffalo, N.Y. five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Marys church in Chilton. The Rev. Joseph Esdepsky will officate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
