"According to his death certificate that I am currently indexing for Michigan through Family Search he died on August 6, 1940. His date of birth is July 29, 1924. He died from a gunshot wound through the spleen and liver that caused a hemorrhage.
It says that the gun shot would happened when attempting to break and enter. Now I don't know if he is the victim that was home when the bad guy came in or if he was the intruder. I am thing the latter. But I don't know.
Whether he was the bad guy or not...Poor kid...Sad to see anyone die of meaningless death especially a child..."

According to a family member (nephew), his death was a case of mistaken identity:
"Albert went to local small market near his home at night. The store owner didn't recognize him, thought he was a robber and shot him. He died as a result of his injuries."

He worked at the market. That evening, he had worked and left a schoolbook there. He went back after the market was closed to pick it up. That's when the owner mistakenly shot him.
This was my dad's uncle and how the story was relayed to my dad. Either way, mistaken identity and a sad story. Thank you for the memorial!
