J. W. Biard died at his home Friday, March 14, after a long illness, of pleurisy.
Mr. Biard was a native of Biardstown, Texas, a member of a very large family, after whom that place was named. He came to Sulphur in 1906, and has made this his home for the past seven years.
He was a Confederate veteran serving in the Eleventh Texas Company during the war until the famous battle of Gettysburg, where he was taken prisoner.
During the seven years Mr. Biard has been a resident of Sulphur he has made many friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday evening at 2 o'clock, by R. M. Estes. The remains were interred in the Oak Lawn cemetery. - Sulphur Post.
